Your Competition Owner & Host
Sarah Myers

Sarah started the In The Spotlight competition to give students from every background the opportunity to enter a performance focused competition. It is not about the complexity of tricks or dance moves but rather the complete package. How you engage the audience, move to the music, present yourself on stage, express your creativity, and execute your routine, are the basis of the In the Spotlight judging criteria.
She wanted all students to have the confidence to take that first step into a competition in an environment that was empowering, supportive and more relaxed. Having wrestled with stage fright herself throughout her pole journey she wanted to give others the opportunity to excel, and at times falter, in a safe and nurturing space.
Sarah has been teaching pole dancing out of her Vertical Joy studio since 2014. She enjoys empowering women through the mediums of pole and aerial arts, bringing together an eclectic mix of people who form everlasting friendships, and she also just loves to dance…to that perfect tune!
